Chat and tasks

Turn a message into a task

What teams lose is rarely the written task — it is what everyone agreed to in chat and nobody wrote down. This is the step that closes that gap: the message itself becomes a task, with no re-typing.

Steps

  1. Open the conversation and find the message that carries the agreement.
  2. Turn it into a task from the message’s own options.
  3. Assign one owner and set a date — a task with no owner and no date is not a task.
  4. Link it to the project or client it belongs to, so it appears where it belongs rather than in a general list.
  5. Save. The task appears in the Tasks module with a link back to the original message and its context.
